OneSource is looking for an experienced business information Product Manager to join a highly motivated team whose job is to support, enhance, and grow OneSource’s web-based suite of products. This individual will work closely with other key teams at OneSource, including a larger core team of product managers, content managers, engineers, business development, and marketing professionals.
Specific Responsibilities:
*Maintains, enhances, and has ownership of specific features of web-based product line
*Writes detailed functional specifications based on high-level requirements for product enhancements
*Understands end-user application needs including segment/geographic differences through interface with Product Marketing, Sales, Support, and direct client contact
*Maintains solid understanding of content sources, their interaction with and impact on the application, and the quality and positioning issues needed to support customer issues
*Exhibits strong project management skills and coordinates with team leads on the cross-functional product team
*Works closely with Sales and Support including preparing and delivering product updates and sales training, delivering written communications detailing product changes, assisting on sales calls, keeping online product information up to date, and backing up support staff on in-depth client questions/requests
*Reviews (relevant) customer feedback and works with Customer Support to ensure any feedbacks requiring follow-up action are sent to appropriate groups
*Reviews and prioritizes software problems and advocates for these problems to be corrected in a timely manner
*Tracks product usage, customer feedback, and internal employee suggestions and provides periodic summaries for marketing and management review
*Maintains high-level technical understanding of how product is built and is therefore able to determine, with the help of product development, how to compromise between end-user needs and technical limitations
Experience/Skills/Special Requirements:
*Previous product management or business analyst experience is required
*Project management experience involving cross-functional teams
*Experience with financial information (public company financial reports) highly desirable
*Awareness of data sources used in the business information community is highly desirable
*Well versed in user interface design best practices is desirable
*Excellent communication and presentation skills
*Working knowledge of the Internet and Windows systems
*3-5 years of relevant work experience
Education:
*BS degree in applicable business or technology discipline
