Uses of Financial Data and Information
Financial Data provides insight into company performance and market trends within industries. Some of ways companies use financial data include:
- Understanding the performance of a prospect or supplier
- Determining revenue and profitability trends in an industry
- Evaluating relative strengths of companies

Types of Financial Data

- Credit Scores : Ratings that indicate the likely ability for a company to be able to pay off its debt
- Moody's ratings : Determines creditworthiness of a company and is then graded based on the Moody scale. Primarily used for analysis of commercial and government entities
- Debt to Equity Ratio : Measure of a company's leverage calculated by dividing its total liabilities by stockholders equity
- Inventory Turnover Ratios : Measures the number of times a company sells its inventory during the year
- Market Analysis : Determines the attractiveness of a market and outlines all the evolving opportunities and threats as they relate to the strengths and weaknesses of a firm
