Al Larson Boat Shop opened when Al Larson originally leased waterfront land from the Banning Family, founders of the Port of Los Angeles, to commence a boat building and repair shop in 1903. The boat shop continued to grow in reputation for service as well as providing quality craftsmanship ever remaining small to medium size.
