Crane Resistoflex in Marion, N.C., was previously known as Resistoflex Aerospace. The combined companies also have locations in Jacksonville, Fla., and Bay City, Mich. Resistoflex pioneered the manufacture of Teflon-lined hose assemblies for military aircraft during WWII. The need for fuel lines to be joined to high thrust engines and remain tight despite being subjected to extremes of temperature, pressure and corrosive attack resulted in the development of the zero leakage Dynatube fitting. Dynatube, the original beam seal fitting, provides a metal-to-metal seal for substantial savings in weight and envelope compared to other aerospace fittings.
