Haycarb Plc is a Sri Lanka-based company engaged in the manufacturing of coconut shell derived activated carbon. The Company's product utilises the pollutive gasses from the carbonisation process that is normally released into the atmosphere during traditional charcoaling, to generate carbon neutral electrical power that is supplied to the national grid, substituting fossil fuel power generation. The Company's facility in Sri Lanka, at full capacity, abates the release of 890 tons per annum of methane gas, equivalent to 18,700 tons of carbon dioxide per annum while abating a further 32,000 tons per annum of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere by substituting fossil fuel-based power that would not have been carbon neutral.
